To mitigate its risk on the $110 million project, Liosngate pre-sold the international rights to “Allegiant,” which is handled by an array of distributors. “Allegiant,” the third film in the franchise, began rolling out last weekend in international markets and has grossed $53.4 millon internationally, led by $5 million in France. “Kung Fu Panda 3” has grossed nearly $400 million worldwide.Īs in the United States, “Zootopia” overshadowed “The Divergent Series: Allegiant,” which came in third with $22 million in 78 markets. The DreamWorks title, distributed by Fox, has hit $257 million internationally and opens next weekend in Belgium, Australia, New Zealand and Mongolia.
